The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is expected to come up with recruitment notification for Grade B Officers from eligible candidates in various offices of the Bank. Selection for RBI Grade B Officers will be done through a country-wide competitive Examination in two phases i.e. Preliminary and Main examination followed by an Interview.

 

RBI Grade-B Notification 2018

RBI Officers (Grade-B) Notification 2018 is expected to be released soon. The number of vacancies will be 160+ following is a newspaper clipping indicating the tentative vacancies and exam dates. The online application for the same will begin after the release of official notification of RBI Grade B 2018.

RBI Grade-B Dates 2018

The preliminary exam of the RBI Grade B 2018 Exam will be tentatively scheduled in the month of August 2018. While, the mains exam of this exam will be conducted tentatively in the month of September 2018. RBI Grade B 2017 exam follows a three phase selection process. Candidates who get selected after Mains exam are called for interview process. Here’s the complete schedule:

Examination centres for RBI Officers (Grade-B) examinations are there in almost 35 States and Union Territories.

RBI Officers (Grade-B) Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility criteria include Age limit and Educational Qualification. For RBI Officers (Grade-B) 2018 examination the lower and upper age limits were 21 years and 30 years respectively.
Educational Qualification: A minimum of aggregate 60% marks (50% in case of SC/ST/PWD) or an equivalent grade in Bachelor’s degree as well as in 12th (or Diploma or equivalent) and 10th standard examinations.

RBI Officers (Grade-B) Exam Pattern

Preliminary Examination (200 Marks): The Paper consisted tests of (i) General Awareness (ii) English Language (iii) Quantitative Aptitude and (iv) Reasoning, with a composite time of 120 minutes.

Interview (50 marks): Candidates were shortlisted for the interview, based on an aggregate of marks obtained in Phase-II (Paper-I +Paper-II +Paper-III). Candidates were given the option to opt for interview either in Hindi or English. Final Selection was through merit list which will be prepared by adding marks secured by candidates in Phase-II examination and interview.

The penalty for Wrong Answers (Applicable to both – Preliminary and Main examination)

There as a penalty for wrong answers marked in the Online Objective Tests. For each question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate, one fourth of the marks assigned to that question was deducted as penalty to arrive at corrected score. No marks are deducted for un-attempted questions.
